For Contractors

Contractors can offer PACE financing to customers who wish to pay back the cost of energy and water improvements over the lifetime of the measures.  The customer may receive financing based on the value of the property, rather than a personal credit score.  As the main salespeople for PACE programs, contractors are a critical component to the success of programs and can also expand their businesses through additional sales that result from PACE financing.

Benefits to Contractors

  • Present another financing option to customers to cover the cost of energy efficiency, renewable energy and water improvements for their home or business
  • Reduces or eliminates the upfront costs to customer, which has been a major barrier to the market
  • Available for both residential and commercial property owners

How to Participate

PACE programs are under development throughout the country.  A list of current and/or pending programs is available on the Programs page.  Check to see if PACE financing is available in your area.

If your area does not yet have a PACE program, you can become a PACE advocate. Promote PACE in your area by:

  • Contacting your local government officials to educate them on PACE financing
  • Participating in the state process to support PACE legislation
  • Using the VoteSolar Initiative PACE toolkit to advocate for local and state policy
